The Football Association of Ireland has commenced the first ever strategic review of the amateur game in Ireland and is examining every aspect of the amateur game with a view to producing a strategy for its future development. As part of the review the FAI is seeking the opinions of people involved in the games at all levels in order to understand their concerns, issues and ideas for making their game better.

“This is an opportunity for clubs, players, coaches, administrators, officials, fans and media to have their say,” said FAI Chief Executive John Delaney. “The FAI recognises that the foundations of football are built at local level and we are committed to the development of a more effective amateur game structure and the provision of appropriate organised and quality competitive football opportunities for all involved.

“We want to hear what those on ground are thinking. We want to know what they think is wrong, what is working and what are their ideas and suggestions for the future development of their game,” added Mr Delaney.

To make it easier for those involved in grassroots football to have their say the FAI have arranged a series of consultative workshops at 14 venues around the country and the first of these takes place this Tuesday, September 4, in the Mill Race Hotel, Bunclody at 7pm.

The meetings are being facilitated by the FAI’s external consultants, Genesis, and all members of clubs in Wexford, Wicklow and Carlow are invited to attend.

That should be a very interesting evening for sure, a chance for us Junior Soccer people to have our say..............to be fair, the FAI are doing very well in supplying coaching to us, but there are still some issues that are happening year upon year in our Leagues that need to be nailed once and for all.  Red Cow date noted.
We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll keep the Green Flag flying high......Shamrock Rovers will never die, we'll keep the Green Flag Flying high. 19 Leagues and 25 Cups.....
