"With the resources available at man City"

 I dislike Citeh and their riches as much as the next man ...but I am sick to death of hearing the above line from Man Utd  and their fans on  how it's going to be such  a great achievement to win the title this year. What a load of tosh , you’d swear that Utd spend no money at all ….

 

They have just as much resources and just as much cash has been spent delivering their team albeit over a longer period of time….not to mention all the tapping up that goes on in the closed season to illegally lure their targets, annual quota of soft Utd goals both home and away and numerous homer decisions and extra time added to allow them to win games they should never have won.

 

In a way if Citeh squeeze the title this year after only a few short seasons in the making it will be a far bigger achievement against a lot more adversity.

Have to agree with the OP. For years United were the only Premiership team that had the money to sign big name players. Nobody ever complained then when they were able to spend £28M on Veron, £30M on Ferdinand, £20 on Van Nistellroy etc, but when Chelsea and City got money, they were accused of trying to buy the title.

United were always self sufficient that's the primary difference not brasses out to Arabs or Russians gangsters
