Connacht looking at groundsharing at a redeveloped Eamonn Deacy Park which would have a capacity of 8,000-12,000.

That'd be unreal, a serious amount of decent facilities in the pipeline league wide hopefully most of them come true

Makes sense for Connacht. Were they are isn't great as ye have the dog track between the pitch and the stands. Would be ridiculous to build a new stadium when they could just redevelop Eamonn Deacy Park. Would also allow for the possibility of Ireland playing a game there akin to the Belarus friendly

The only ones who stand to profit from this is the Galway FA. Connacht will still be paying rent on a ground they don't own. Galway United won't be entitled to anything either. They might get better facilities but in fairness Eamonn Deacy Park as it is is already a great ground, one that GUFC aren't filling. And once the bandwagon that is Connacht Rugby comes stuck, they won't be filling EDP either.

I have nothing against Connacht but I know from experience that the general apathy from Galway reagrding sport will kick in once the success dries up. They haven't even sold out this weekends Pro12 game against Glasgow.

And any profits the Galway FA stand to make will be reinvested into maintaining the pitch for two different sports.

The Dyke Road would have to be re-aligned and there would be massive objections from Residents groups. I think its Kite Flying as Connacht continue to put pressure on the owners of the sportsgrounds to re develop their home.

One City,One County,One Club GUFC will be back.

An 8k seater would be ample for both of them.
Connaughts core support is around 5k and Galways is around 1k.

Anything any higher would risk doing what Munster did with Thomand Park and over estimate core support.

Its really Connaughts issue. If they can sort it out great, if not, Galway will still be grand in a very nice ground.
I won the Player of the Century award thanks to the people.Pele was second. He also came second behind Aryton Senna as Brazil's greatest sportsman. The award FIFA gave Pele isn't worth sh*t - Maradona
