Apologies if there is another thread on this somewhere...
Just wondering what the story is with purchasing train tickets in advance to travel to the games. There are 5 of us staying in Sopot for 6 nights so we will need to get the train to Poznan on Sunday morning and back again early on Monday morning. Would it be advisable to pre-book these tickets? Also is it true that to guarantee a seat you must book a first class ticket? |

Regarding the firstclass ticket I dont know.
But ive been looking into travelling by train aswell as I arrive in Wroclaw on the night of the 7th and will need to go to Poznan the morning after. Also will need train from Poznan to Gdansk later on. If you google "Polish trains", the website will pop up, think its sumtin like poltrain, it isnt great and as yet it wont show you prices for June, only up to end of May. Go to Quick Book. As it stands, for example going Wroclaw - Poznan oneway is like €12 - €15 which is super. I hope and presume they wont put ticket prices through the roof just for when we arrive. There is a link there too where you can ask a question of them. Hope that helps. |

Polskibus site has luxury coaches as well. Seats can be booked now and prices are for little or nothing. Journeys don't seem to take much longer than trains. Another option if it helps

There's the Polishpass as well advertised on Uefa.com. Something like €96 for 7 days unlimited train travel during finals.

Was a handy way to pass the time waiting on my next Check4Changes call! Where are you staying for the duration? We're based in Torun for the most part and Poznan for the Italy match. |

Trains cannot be booked until about a month in advance...and only then it'll be just the Intercity or TLK trains. You cannot book the cheaper InterRegio 2nd class trains online.
Polskibus.com is a really good product and have many cheap luxurious coaches connecting Warsaw with the rest of Poland (as well as Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava). You can book now for a very low-cost price. For more info on travelling in Poland (especially to Toruń), please check out my site: |

Anyone know if the Polish Pass can be used to reserve seats in advance or can it only be used on the day? Can't see anything on the site.

You can pre-book Polish through DB Bahn in Dublin , you can find the telephone number on the Berlin Train Thread , I have booked all my trains in Poland with them. |

Spotted this in Polish Pass might be important
During UEFA EURO 2012TM PKP Intercity will run additional 50 domestic trains. During the tournament there will also be additional international trains, e.g. to Ukraine, Russia Denmark or the Czech Republic. The timetable for Euro 2012 is to be announced in mid-April. From then on it will be possible to buy tickets for trains operating during the Championship. Reading this would seem to mean that we can book trains from mid april |
