Havent seen it on the forum here yet so here goes ...

http://www.breakingnews.ie/sport/mhqlausnojmh/

Nearly sure at th Fans Forum they said that in order to sponsor the National Team, sponsors would also have to support the National League, so does
this spell the end of the orange blob on the jersey!

Eircom have denied that they are about to end their sponsorship of the eircom League.

In a statement just issued they have stated that: "The current contract is due to expire at the end of 2008.

"Eircom is currently in discussions with the FAI regarding sponsorship of Irish soccer. These discussions are ongoing, and eircom will not comment on specific aspects until the negotiations have concluded."

Eircom have sponsored the Irish national soccer team since 200 and began backing the domestic league soon after that.

Ok lads, here's the scéal

I posted this on  another forum this morning

 eircom to pull league sponsorship
It'll be all over the place in a few days but here goes.

My understanding is that eircom have informed the FAI that they will no longer sponsor the League of Ireland but will maintain the link with the international side.

That's all folks

Then RTE Radio went with it at 11am with Breaking News picking it up from there but made an error saying eircom had announced  it when they hadn't

If you read the later eircom statement it doens't deny or confirm, a nice holding statement until they and the FAI can come up with a formof words to confirm the story.

Maybe the FAI wouldn't pay their phonebill SoccerC and eircom cut them offTongue
