Total myth. I know of two OWC poster who claimed very publicly on the forum that they were boycotting the game last week yet were in Dublin, at the game and had a great night with some Scots and ROI fans.

Actions speak louder than wordsLOL

If it is a fact that a lot of the NI die hards boycotted; it only served to highlight the rest of the NI fans that made an arsehole of yer fans.....

What about a four green fields flag with players from all four provinces and the flag of each province.

N.iron I live and work close to LR. I walked home from work past the ground and I also went to the game as I was given free tickets. While there were many genuine and good natured NI fans. There were hundreds (if not thousands) of a scum element. I never saw as many butcher's aprions in one stadium in all my life

Goin to throw my two cents in and say, I can't see how that banner won't be construed as provocative.

All players from Ulster who play for the Republic. What is the actual message? "Look, they came and played for us. Up yours?"

I don't see the banter in it.

I've never known any history of banter between the Republic and Northern Ireland. There has been a nasty history at times.

If this is an attempt to create banter, it's lost on me, so don't be surprised if those not on this forum, and media organisations, view it as the same.

Only giving an honest opinion lads.

The sequence now is, should he miss this, and Ireland's next penalty is scored, then the match and the progress are Ireland's....Timofte against Bonner..

I don't see the banter in it. I do.

I've never known any history of banter between the Republic and Northern Ireland. There has been a nasty history at times. The banter, It officially starts in May thanks to www.ybig.ieClap

If this is an attempt to create banter, it's lost on me, so don't be surprised if those not on this forum, and media organisations, view it as the same. N.Iron, our very own N. Iron supporter has staed previously that it will be viewed as banter by genuine fans. I couldn't give a toss if the lowlife part of the contingent get upset, lets face they will be intent on trouble anyway and us displaying a lighthearted banner is going to make no difference. We will not be the ones displaying the flag of colonial conquerer, singing songs that commemorate the slaughter of one religion or another etc etc...

Only giving an honest opinion lads.

Having said that all above, I do respect you're opinion on this, I just don't agree is all. Never once has any flag been made up by us or hopefully ever will which was deliberately designed to stir up anything other than the banter mentioned.

id agree with that i dont see the reason in just having the Ulster flag on it with the FAI one.

Is this only going to be hanging for a couple of minutes when the players come out like the others flags at the Russia game? Seems a bit of a waste of money for one game.

id love if the SS was down the north terrace then we could fill the glass wall behind with our flags.

isn't there a thread for SS at the wrong end of LR somewhere too?
