Just heard that Sean Quinn has been rumoured to be looking at buying sheffiled wednesday, dunnu whether its true or not. Thats a strange one, brings up the whole why dont they invest in a irish club argument. Better chance of getting into Europe and the likes.

exactly. These guys are not gonna invest in an EL club cos its a money pit. Even with SW they have a decent enough ground a large fanbase (bigger than anything in the EL) and if he spends enough he can get them into the Premier league and get a decent return on his investment.

but you would not need to invest as much with an EL club , just attract the best irish guys , some decent foreigners and continuously progress in europe , just one crack at the CL groups would be a serious payoff
