Topic: Players entrance American style Posted: 08 Feb 2008 at 7:38am |
After watching the superbowl last week i thought why cant they do this with soccer instead of the dreary walk out holding hands and walking of the red carpet etc.
Each team comes out on their own to music of their choice, sthin like "welcome to the jungle" etc. Gives fans a chance to cheer for their team, boo the opposition, create an atmposphere, create a buildup etc. Its fliipn deadly...hairs on back of neck stuff and as one american footballer said "it makes you feel like a gladiator entering the arena to draw blood".
What ya's think?

Ireland coming out to 'My Lovely horse' In fairness though it would be quality coming out to 'War' by Vince Di Copola (Rocky vs russian in rocky 4) or the original Rocky music or final countdown or something!

we cant get players to make the fcukin trip to join up with the squad, much less out on to the field!!
Do like the tampa bay bucaneers and stick a pirate ship on the hill. Launch some cannon balls towards Abbottstown!!!!.

billybob - lot to admired about how the yanks do some things, but the superbowl is a rock concert / stage show / carnival etc, and not a sports event. Its one thing to see 6 foot four musclebound maniacs tearing out of the tunnel, and ripping through paper, bt not quite sure if Stephen Ireland would have the desired effect of intimidating the opposition.....

I'd love to see Hunty come tearing through that paper or Richard Dunne slide tackling through a giant box of sugar puffs.
Just sick of the red carpet $hit and half time presentations
