Topic: Ireland 1, Ecuador 1 Posted: 23 May 2007 at 7:04pm |
Good game tonight, a draw was the least we deserved. Potter was very tidy in the middle of the park and Doyle's goal was pure class. Plenty of energy about everybody and some good passages of play and a few chances created. That said, our offside ploy was shambolic too often and we shoulda been made to pay by Ecuador a few times, but overall I was quite pleased with the performance and it was a good contest. The 6 second half subs rendered it a bit too Sven-like for my liking but I suppose you have to give as many as you can a run. Doyle in goal, Bruce, Kelly and Bennett at the back and Potter all got the full 90. Goodnight, the leaba beckons.

good man freewheeler, I only lasted about 25 minutes and woke up at 5 drooling on the couch. Enjoyed the bit I was as was some good attacking football. Doyle was unlucky hitting the post and was a good ball thorugh by Ohalloran. Yeah heard the defence didnt look that confident but first match together so cant fault them too much. Pitch looked in bits and it was like they were playing with a burst ball at times cause it wasnt bouncing over knee high. looking forward to game now at normal time on saturday. how did lapira look in his 5 minutes, any nice touches?

Lapira touched the ball about twice. Some barnet on him, makes Hunt look positively trendy. Pitch was only laid 24 hours before the game, it was very poor alright.

I knew if I'd have gone drinking watching the CL, there was no earthly way I'd have seen any of the Irish game. I'll put that right though on Saturday, 9pm's a perfect ko time.

yeah hopefully hunt will make the left side his own now with duff being out. good to have competition on those places anyway as duff has really been hit and miss over the last few years. If I was naming the team, Doyle in his short international career would be second on the sheet after given, the chap is quality
