Topic: Venables 'offered' job Posted: 11 Jan 2008 at 12:16pm |
TV3 say close sources to the FAI say a deal has been done.
They also said 2 of the 10 man board disagree
I thought it was the three-man committee picking the fuking gaffer?
If any truth expect an official on 22nd

This has got to stop! We get our hopes up and then Venables raises his ugly features again. I can't take it anymore. Please, please someone appoint a new Irish boss and let us get on with the more mundane things in life. I really was getting excited about the new names in line for the post butthis is like a kick in the nuts. I think I'll start drinking.

from RTE website!
Venables set to be panel's choiceFriday, 11 January 2008 22:02
News broke at the Irish Football Writer's Awards dinner on Friday night that the three-man selection panel of Ray Houghton, Don Givens and Don Howe were set to recommend that Terry Venables be offered the vacant Republic of Ireland position.
An FAI board meeting is scheduled for 22 January and Venables could be installed then, but the FAI are refusing to comment on the story.
The awards took place at the Radisson Hotel, at Golden Lane in Dublin, where Paul Doolin of Drogheda United won the manager of the year award.
D'oh!

FAI denying it, just cos Venables didn't get the Bulgaria job they're all assuming he has our job now. I think we should all just wait now alright till Jan 22 and see who they reveal....

Listen if Venebles gets the gig,its because delaney wanted him from day one, it never mattered to delaney what the 10 man board think our who the 3 kingmakers believed should be number1,delaney the stuborn cu*t was always wanting venebles.all this searching around was for the media and the fans, its all so he wont be blamed again in the long run,all he cares about is continueing to line his pockets for the forseeable future, Does he really think were that thick, your scum john delaney and I want your ugly fookin head on a stick.wa*ker.

Correct Eresto. Delaney has the final say no matter what, despite the circus he created to take the limelight away - not to mention the money he wasted as well

look... I really have a pain in my hole now with all this.... Paddy Power is an official sponsor of the Irish team and I am startin to think that this whole fiasco has been orchestrated by them ....they are the only ones that are goin to benefit from all this tripe.
