I see another five united fans were stabbed tonight in Rome, including a 16 yr old Ouch bad form. Will we need to pack the stab proof vests in our luggage when we head over to Italy in the world cup qualifiers?

Sorry, must not have read it properly. The 16 yr old lad was taken to hospital for 'the effects of drink'. No sympathy there then!

The bad blood from last year clearly carried on.  But you're right, we need to tread carefully when we're in Rome despite the previous good times had by Ireland in 1990 and Celtic fans, Italy has a major fckn problem on their hands with football violence.
We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll keep the Green Flag flying high......Shamrock Rovers will never die, we'll keep the Green Flag Flying high. 19 Leagues and 25 Cups.....

This happened on a notorious bridge in Rome where the fans were told NOT to go near.
I suspect those that did go there went with the intent of causing trouble

Come on Drummer Boy, it was a joke, poor taste maybe...no one was killed by the flying moped either.

"Italy has a major problem on its hands with football violence".

Very true but it goes a lot deeper. Italy as an economy/soceity is falling apart at the seams and i think this hatred towards government/systems/governing bodies etc is starting to hit the streets.

Personally i wouldn't see a problem with us Irish over there and we still might not be playing in one of the bigger cities.
