Aiden McGeady scores his first senior hat-trick for Celtic
Republic of Ireland midfielder Aiden McGeady found the net three times for Celtic on Tuesday night in the 4-0 win over Falkirk in a Scottish Premier League game at Celtic Park. It was the first time that the 21-year old had scored a hat-trick for the Bhoys

Fair play to him, whilst i have never been able to see what all the hyped up fuss has been about over the years by some celtic mates, i must say he has impressed me recently - has been good in europe recently for them and also now he is banging in the goals

I'd play him off Clinton up front - certainly the form players ha ha

Doyle, Hunt, Keane, Clinton and now McGeady banging them in . . . . . hope it continues plus special praise for miller who should have bitch slapped terry instead last week

He has been impressive recently which makes it even more frustrating that this form isn't transferred to the national team ala Bob Keane.
Stevie G and Lampard are the same for the Brits...Is this down to management or money. Does playing for ones country really mean as much anymore ?

Mageedy made it clear that he wanted to play 4 us when he was younger. I think it means something to him.

That woz cause the Scots were in a Jock ( no pun intended) at the time- more dire than we are now..and he thought he'd have a better chance qualifying for something with us me thinks.

I still think he has a lot to prove in an reland shirt as hasnt made his mark yet, but would defo be in my starting 11 or thereabouts. Problem is its a mickey mouse league and its hard to step up to the mark when required (ie games for ireland, away games in champions league). Same problem for O'Dea I think!

In fairness Justice, if you watch the documentary about Celtic "The Irish Connection", you'll see McGeady only had ambition to play for Ireland, regardless of how good/bad or indifferent Scotland were and it's to his credit that he has shrugged off the abuse in Scottish stadia about it.  He's definitely starting to add substance to his talent and he is still young, so let's hope he starts to add some of this to his Irish displays.  His only decent game to date was in Aarhuis, but he's definitely going the right way. Delighted he got 3 last night, top class, looking forward to seeing it on Celtic TV during the week.

I stand slightly corrected Roger, he started really well in Cardiff against a rookie full back but faded badly after that cos we didn't get the ball to him much.  He's now setting the bar higher for himself so the ball's in his court.

Hope a new manager can push him on then so... your quite right FW in that he's still young and can improve........ Also given Celtic's wage structure, he shouldn't be that corrupted by money such as Duff and Keane the tramps

He also did very well when coming on as sub against cyprus, apart from that and denmark he has been poor of late as many have said but so have alot of other players. He's only 21 and can only get better, think he could be big player for us in future. He has also put in some very good champs league performances in over the last few years

Have to agree,it took Duffer a while to get going on the international front, McGeady just needs to build himself up abit as I think he's a confidence player, Goodtimes ahead for McGeady in the Green, plenty of time on his hands.
