What do people think of the idea of what they do in Rugby League's super league where they book out the millenium stadium for the weekend and play 3 games on saturday and 3 on sunday.Could it work in the Premier Division just say when Lansdowne is finished.Have a weekend of 6 games all at lansdowne road preferably derbys and grudge matches.Could be a money spinner for the clubs. All matches televised. If they are both full houses thats 100,000 people and the profits can go to the clubs.

The first time the Devil made me do it. The second time I did it on my own.

Great idea alright, a big effort could be made advertising it and getting it all televised. Dont know much bout Rugby but in recent years they seem to have much big strides in bringing it to a new audience and increasing its popularity. The big problem with such an event for the eircom league is keeping control of the idiot minorities that unfortunately follow some of our clubs.

Very good idea. But what about the pitch, could it take 6 games in two days? Would the FAI and also the IRFU be up for it, they'd look at it from a best case scenario and a worst case.... which situation do you reckon they would take a risk on?

id say 3 games of football would be the equivelent of 1 rugby game on a pitch.Middle of june or july would be my preference as long as there wasnt a championship on at the time.In all honesty the FAI and the garda probably wouldnt go for it because they are lazy at the best of times but i think its well workable. And if they are ever serious about hosting a major tournament then they have to step up and show they can organise something
