It been happening for years. Even when Brady was actually playing well, he was being shoe horned into other positions to please McClean. Someone put a video of 2 minutes of McCleans worst moments on Saturday. It was dreadful viewing. So hard to play with someone who loses the ball so much as him,and with so little positional sense. It infuriates me that he is getting away with it week after week

Both Robinson and McClean are better with the ball played in front of them into space. For some reason, against Georgia they were essentially trying to either hold the ball up or turn with the ball at feet. If that was a tactical step, it was wrong. Otherwise it was just more poor play from Hourihane and Hendrick. All four were sh*te, so Collins got nothing to work with.
I think we’ll see better from Robinson in the future. I think we’ve already seen the best of McClean.
McCarthy will stick with McClean for his ability to break up attacks. I’d say Connolly will get his chance in place of Robinson. |

His ability to break up the oppositions attacks or break up our own attacks by constantly losing possession?

Dont get those raw reviews over McClean. Robinson was much more worse in Georgia. McClean can play in any place in the midfield of a team. We need James Mccarthy and Brady in the 11 with McClean. I would also place young Doherty as holding mid.

Nah. Robinson is a decent player. However, the way we play we just can't get the best out of him. When Kenny takes over, I am confident he will do well as our style of play will suit him much better. |

Only heard today that McClean and Hourihane gave away the ball 45 times between them on Saturday. That is disgraceful at any level of football.

They tried to pass to Whelan but he was hiding behind a Georgian.

Think this game we would be better off with the pace of Long along with Connolly . Long can do what Collins is doing but he actually has pace .

McCarthy - Westwood is now a last resort for Ireland (early October) McCarthy - Calls Westwood up for qualifier against Denmark (late October) Don't get me started on his stupid comment on Ryan Manning.
