Stayed in an apartment besides freedom square the last time and was grand job walking distance to bars etc

I'd say there were close to twenty different routes taken out for that match. Loads of different ways to get there. Definitely double figures, dependent on when you booked and what you wanted (some of the cheap ways had very early starts or were to airports aside from Tbilisi).

What options do we have for this?

Trip 1 we did:

Cork - Dam 
Dam - Istanbul 
Istanbul - Tbilisi 

Wouldn't mind taking in a few new countries, is Baku an option?

SD, would appreciate your help. It's a logistic nightmare.
