It's a huge improvement, needs tidying up but it's much better.

I'm not sure who it's a bigger criticism of, but neither Catherine Martin or Thomas Byrne being at the men's and women's cup finals says it all in relation to the government's relationship with football. I'd have thought that the FAI would have made sure one of them could at least go to one of the finals, but with the problems surfacing again in there, you wouldn't bet on it.

I think both were unavailable due to pre-existing appointments on the day of the men's final.

Sounds like absolute tookenism to be honest.

Does any player/fan really care if som low profile politician is at their game?

Would they miss any other high profile games of other popular sports? Unlikely.

Thomas Byrne was at a remembrance day event in Belfast I believe which is always likely to be deemed as more important than the cup final.

He's the minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. Surely with government leaders always likely to be the face of such events, he could be present at other areas under his remit.

Gannon is a big signing for Shels, didn’t have the best time back at Rovers but adds a lot of experience to that squad.
