IDK why he's in the conversation. He can't get near a poor Peterborough team and all his other loan spells petered out. For that matter, Taylor has a lot of work to do to be in the conversation around March considering Kilkenny can't get in squads.

Molumby will probably be a squad player and get around 30-40 caps long-term, but for all his limitations, you know what you're going to get with him.

Bizarre post. You think Molumby will make it but Coventry wont?

Both are struggling at present in their loan spells, but that counts for little, sometimes in football it just doesnt work out for players at certain clubs under certain managers.

Molumby is actually a very good example of that, we seen what he was capable of at Millwall 3 seasons ago but it just hasnt clicked again since for him back at Brighton or on loan at Preston or West Brom since.

Josh Cull didnt really get going until his move to Charlton when he was 22 and hes never looked back since.

Players just need a rub of the green. Both Molumby and Coventry are still PL footballers, their clubs obviously see something in them to keep them around.

It was a great ball out of nothing too just quality and a 100% meant it was on Christies head. He did he's strong and well able to throw himself around. That one against Knight it thought it was a 50-50% he should have won yet ended up fouling Knight little things like that.

Oh yeah looks tailor made for the way we want to play.

Cullen made 55 apps on loan for Bradford at 19 or 20 years of age. He impressed greatly there

Coventry is a worry, his side cannot stop conceding, so as a defensive mid its a team he should be able to get in. I watch Peterborough a bit and he keeps giving the ball away, four or five key stray passes in consecutive games before he was dropped. He has work to do.

To be fair I would say that's a fairly commonly held view. Molumby has already had one good season on loan in the Championship and has been good when given a chance for WBA, who are up near the top of that league. Coventry has already had a mediocre loan spell down in League 1 and is now struggling for minutes with one of the weakest teams in the Championship. There's a reason why Molumby is in double figures in Ireland caps and Coventry is uncapped.

The question with Molumby is whether his level will end up being championship or whether he has enough about him to make it in the top division. The question with Coventry is more likely whether he'll even be good enough to forge a career in the Championship or if he'll end up in the lower leagues.

A more interesting comparison though might be Molumby v Kilkenny. If we take the view that Cullen has the 6 shirt for the next while and Knight, backed up by McGrath, will play more advanced then you could have both Kilkenny and Molumby competing for the "Jeff Hendrick" spot in the middle (as well as Hendrick himself obviously). Obviously they're two very different players - a passer vs a runner/tackler.

The easy answer to give here might seem to be Kilkenny because he's a better technical footballer, and that kind of player seems to be more acceptable to some Irish fans lately. But Molumby's ability to get on the ball and drive us forward shouldn't be overlooked either and if he can tidy up his overall play even a little bit he will be a very strong option for us I think.

does anyone have a clip of the goal Kilkenny gave away? Did he run back towards his own goal and slip the Derby player through?

Did you see it . He wasn’t at fault. Poor control by his own player when receiving the pass from Kilkenny

The Sky Sports highlights didn't show the full move, so I can't tell one way or other whether he was culpable! I'm just going by what the person doing the play-by-play said!

Shocked

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dorset.live/sport/football/football-news/disjointed-defeated-bournemouths-player-ratings-6238220.amp

Gavin Kilkenny (Cook 60') - 6

Came on when the match was in the balance but saw the momentum of the game ebb away from the side soon after. His hurried pass to Stacey started the cluster of mistakes for Derby's second goal but did supply better energy and forward passing in the final 10 minutes

Heres a suggestion, maybe instead of posting different links to SkySports/Google etc, watch it yourself and make up your own mind?

Having belatedly watched the full move that led to the goal, I think a few lads need glasses.

Go to 1.12 and tell me who made the mistake. Clearly the defender did with a poor attempt at clearing the ball.

For sure...the back-pass was good and the CH snuffed his lines.

CH makes it look like a poor enough pass but don't think it was.

I've been meaning to watch that Kilkenny "mistake" for a couple days, I finally just did.... I mean the pass is a little firm but to blame him LOL Best if people just don't respond to the troll Hotlips. He will get bored and leave the forum soon enough
