all true but we've enough evidence to suggest he is a keeper that cant stop shots either. |
Still beats the lad who's scratching his hole on the bench week after week at 25 years of age anyway. |
Well the hole scratcher as you so deprecatingly refer to him will likely be getting quite a few games in the next couple of months between the EL and the CC (hopefully at least), so that may move the dial somewhat.
|
Well he'd want to be, because 99% of his club career so far has basically just been him having a free season ticket to watch Liverpool. |
I'm sure he's tres interested in your opinion YTM!

We really really needed Kelleher to get a move during the summer

I think even if he did it would be hard to drop Bazunu. International form has to be respected too, he's not really done much wrong for us. As long as he's starting at club level and playing well for Ireland the jersey will be his.

Agreed, it would be entirely unfair to drop him given he hasnt done much wrong (is playing well a stretch here? thought he looked nervy at times this window) at international level. The jersey remains his for now, but I dont think he's untouchable by any means.
It could be a different story if he loses his starting spot at Southampton.

It all one giant what if, but if Kelleher had got a move to a club at a higher level than the Championship and was doing ok and starting regularly, then I think he'd likely have taken Bazunu's spot ahead of the last couple of games. Kenny has shown a liking for Kelleher in the past.
Regardless, Baz needs to start playing better at club level imo or he will lose his starting spot at Southampton. Travers could easily end up with a legitimate case for the jersey in that scenario.

He'll need to be doing incredibly badly for them to put Alex McCarthy back in ahead of him. And the consensus actually seems to be that he played quite well last night (I didn't see the game so won't comment further than that). He should be fine until January at a minimum, whereas his nearest rival Kelleher will be doing well to get 10 games this season. If Bazunu stays fit he'll have 20 to 25 more in the bank by then.

He has a PSXG Whoscored Futmob Rating of 4.735426 - Only Matt Doherty fares worse!

Well John, you might see a "PSXG Whoscored Futmob of 4.735426" (whatever the hell that is), but I just see a young goalkeeper doing well for his age but playing behind a sh*t defence.

He played well last night. I watched the full game.
He set up a few attacks with his ability to ping the ball accurately.
Southampton just can't defend. It was horrific defending. Bazunu actually kept the score down with at least 2 good saves. They caused their own downfall by getting caught on the ball while trying to play out.

Do you honestly think he has a chance at saving any of the goals bar the Ndidi one?
The agenda against Bazunu on this forum is hilarious. Lads not even watching games and forming opinions.

Likewise the constant, unwavering, hyping up of bazunu on here is hilarious. He is leaking goals and yet some still think he is not part of the problem. As a goalkeeper is it also not in his remit to organise his defence?

Watch the goals and then explain how you are blaming the goalkeeper for not organising the defence.
They are set up to play out from the back by Martin. Bazunu can't do anything about players giving the ball away in dangerous areas. He also can't do anything about defenders diving in inside the box. The only goal he had any chance with was the Ndidi one. He tried fo bail out his defender by coming out to pressure Ndidi. He got a touch to it and was unlucky that the power beat him. It was proactive goalkeeping. He spread himself.
I'm not sure you understand how goalkeeping works.
