Only 1 more blank weekend before the championship starts !
London and New York double on the first weekend ?? Only about 8/1 which shows the progress being made by both (and, to be fair, the strength of who they are playing).

Can see NY finally doing it. They've been close in recent years

Wonder what would happen if they did do it - Would many of their panel be able to head to Ireland for a Connacht semi final ??

What's the craic with Leitrim ? Do they still drop into the qualifiers if they lose or are they out altogether given NY don't go into the qualifiers

Leitrim would go into the qualifiers as normal. Only reason NY haven't been going into the qualifiers are the logistics

Well, also because of the roundness of the figures.
There are 33 entrants to the All Ireland - that means before the provincial semi finals, there are 17 teams knocked out. New York always being one of them, they don't play - that makes 16 teams for the first round of the qualifiers. I have no idea what happens if New York win a game. |

That's my thinking. If NY win Leitrim dropping into the qualifiers at that stage creates an odd number of teams

The other way to deal with it is to create a "lucky loser" by random draw.
17 teams in round 1 of the qualifiers. Draw 16 teams. The last team left is the "lucky loser" who goes straight to round 2 of the qualifiers. Then, when New York lose in the semi finals, there are 8 round 1 winners, 1 lucky loser and 7 provincial semi finalists. That's 16 teams for round 2. What you do if New York win the semi final is then a clusterf**k. |

Mugsy back home and playing for Cookstown so doesn't look like he will have any involvement with London this year, unless he has to go back for "work"

Aye? Was talking to him in the local last weekend and he seemed to think he'd be playing for Fulham at some point.

Just reading the Tyrone Herald from yesterday and he is pictured playing for Cookstown against Tattyreagh. Cookstown in real bother as well, bottom of Division 2 for a club its size |

He can transfer home if to play league at home and then can transfer back to Fulham to play Championship if he wants.

I see a lot of the Ulster Championship games aren't going to be televised on BBC.
They're only screening something like 2 or 3 games. Tyrone v Monaghan won't be on live on any channel (insert joke about quality of ulster championship)

Interesting wonder will we hear anything from the lads who crib when a game is only on Sky. Doubt it somehow

In the past few years do you mean Bogball?
They used to show every game in the Ulster championship bar one. This year they are only screening 3. |
