Just on this transfer situation re schoolboys ive a few questions to add to the confusion.
During this new window that  obviously caters for the summer football calender, can players who dont want to stay at a DDSL club move across to another league if that same league is also Summer football.
I have heard that the SFAI are still insisting that the normal transfer periods apply which means all kids are technically out of contract/reg form at the end of June which would be the norm for leagues not moving to summer football.
A bit of an ill thought out mess .

Stopped reading when I saw 'SFAI'.

But yes you are correct, there will be isolated incidents of players wanting to move between leagues that are not synchronised.

One would assume that this will be sorted out among the leagues themselves so. It would be an awfully long time for an11/12 year old boy to stay with a team if he was better off moving down a league or two for whatever reason such as lack of game time or not settling

Applied for the UEFA B licence yesterday!

In truth I should have had it done a few years now, but looking forward to doing in non the less.

Anyone on here got the UEFA A licence? Going to press ahead with passing the B first but I'm going gungho at getting all my badges while I can.

Will try progress further with my goalkeeping badges too, always handy to have.

Never bothered years ago getting the A as I couldnt justify the cost against future income.

Now its very hard to get on the course unless you are 'in the know' or with a LOI club or if your name is Robbie Keane.

Finishing off the C licence this weekend.
First 4 days were in December (when I had applied it was down as the Youth Cert but converted before it began) and very enjoyable.

It actually opened my eyes a little as i was involved in the SSG at u10's, but knew that I'd be more comfortable doing 11v11's.

The bones of €2,000 sent away to do the UEFA B Licence.

I actually don't even know if I'll get on it this year now because dopey here couldn't get the download link working on the application form! Could very well have to wait until next year as I'm only dropping it up tomorrow Embarrassed

Pray for Brian

FAI/DDSL Elite Performance Squad for u11s.

Usual bullsh*t, every club in A and A1 sends 3 (THREE) players for trials.

After a few weeks the squad consists of 4 (FOUR) players from both Crumlin and Cherry Orchard and more from Kevins and Leixlip. Guess who the managers are !!!!

The best player by a country mile in Dublin at u11 has NOT been selected.

This is because he does not play for the above mentioned teams and they have all been trying to poach him for the past six months using all means imaginable, bordering on harrasement.

"Sign for us and we'll cap ya" is still going strong 30 years down the road.

Well done Dr. Oetker and the NEW SHINY FAI Player Pathway.

Who exactly is the best u11 player because I have worked closely with 1 lad who is in the squad. He is excellent. And I know another lad with huge talent in it.
But your right ,them squads are farcical. It was the same with last years 11s and is the same with this years 12s. Numerous players involved who shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

Not naming the player or club.

I was at the first session and saw what was on view, some tasty players alright but this lad shone more than anyone and has been doing it for 2 years in the top division. Ive watched probably 20/30 games he's played in against all the top teams. A friend of mine who was an academy coach at Man Utd watched a game he played against the Orchard and he told me there was only one player on the pitch.

He goes to school with these players from Orchard and Crumlin who have been told to tell him that he will not get anywhere staying with his current club. We also have two more players on these 'trials' and one of them should also be included.

The DDSL are denying that the training match took place last night despite photos appearing on Facebook of the 4 Crumlin players in DDSL jerseys.

We're just waiting now for the free cars and holidays to be offered......
