Fantastic. Another six months of no likey no lighty and his mates doing the media rounds trying to get himself the job by sheer attrition.

Canham is an out and out spoofer
Just fantastic. New manager if they even have one by then won't have any game time with players before the Nations League.

Canham probably won't even be in his position come September. It'll get pushed out even further.

They have gone with the view that the hope of getting a top class manager is better than the reality of appointing a sh*t one.

The salary on offer will never attract a top class manager though. Carsley was our best hope at potentially getting a modern coach for a reasonable salary. Maybe they'll revisit him, but it seems unlikely now. I'd be happy enough with Sagnol after Euro 2024 is finished. Whoever they actually do hire is unlikely to please most people at this stage. |

if they had of came out and said this in march, and that O'Shea would be interim until a suitable candidate is found, we probably wouldn't be to annoyed about it. Its they way he went about it making him look like a total amateur

That’s a frustrating watch.
Like I said in a previous post, there are a number of constraints around the job, which make it a relatively unattractive prospect for candidates. I sincerely doubt anybody who is in work, and would meet the standards required would be interested in the job. So in reality, the pool of candidates is limited. Trusting the process is difficult when that process was to be resolved in April. Essentially the Emperor has no clothes. The one thing is, I think they have made it almost impossible to appoint JOS full time. If he is appointed in September, it will appear attritional, and almost by default.

So we are going to get absolutely thrashed by The ENGLAND. No preparation no nuffink. John O'Shea will be appointed permanently once they see nobody wants the job and the reason they will give is that ''it would disrupt the squad having a new voice going straight into the compeptitive games. Therefore we have appointed John O'Shea until the end of 2024''

There's not even an agreement for O'Shea to take the June games. They'll probably put in Crawford for the June games.

It's interesting because back earlier this year I posted that we needed someone in for the friendlies, and I still think we did need someone in for June at the very least, but won't get it because of the mess of a recruitment process.
However there was alot of posters if you go back through the thread who said they were happy to wait until the summer to get the right person, now people aren't happy to wait until the summer. That's down to the FAI and their self imposed deadlines that they've not meet. But I will agree in that surely it's better to get the appointment correct instead of rushing into something now when in a years time everyone's thinking why on earth did we hire X manger when we could have waited until the summer to get Y manager. But overall an absolute shambles from how the recruitment looks to be run to the communication around it
