Kerr said he is permanently finished with the Irish set up and has no idea who the next manager will be.

I met Keane before and the media persona doesn't match up to the man - he seemed like a sound head. With age I'm sure he's mellowed to a point and not the lunatic player/man he once was or is forever being portrayed as.
You would imagine he would give it everything he has to redeem himself for Saipan and secure his legacy here, somewhat. Of the grim options for us he's certainly not the worst one.

oh I know, and I hardly listen to him on GAA, just couldn't believe the "logic" of his argument - and his pal Ken Early seems to be parrotting the same idea. of all the reasons people might use to appoint O'Shea, "it'll mean the world to him" is probably the most ridiculous

I think the argument is purely if its a question of O'Shea vs. Poyet, which hopefully it isnt.

Forgot about Ebosele. I really wanted him to get a start too. Watching Coleman barely be able to run let alone beat a man was painful. If he was played as a defensive RB then fine but he gave us zero threat going forwards. Sure Ebosele is far from a finished product and would make defensive mistakes but it was a friendly we shouldn't be parking the bus completely. A bore draw against a better side doesn't give us any points.

6 months in and we have come full circle and back to Duffer as a candidate. (btw, I would agree but again think it's not right timing for him).

One thing I was also thinking about the 'Shambles' of a manager hunt. The delay in appointing the long-term manager has probably saved the association about 200-400k in terms of salaries for a full time management team over 3-4 months. So while we and the media are on the verge of heading to abbotstown with our pitchforks wanting a goddamn name, they are probably happy enough that things are moving at the pace they are and will take care of itself in good time before the main qualifiers start.

Bradley's performances in Europe and generally preferring older/experienced players would put me off him. |

This is a man who doesn’t showboat like Niall Quinn. Who actually goes to the hospital to visit sick children. This is a man who is a family man, he is a credit to his country and to his family. |

I remember someone else saying something similar earlier in this thread. I don’t think it’s inconceivable for the FAI, but wouldn’t seem like a good move for the team to lose out on an opportunity to try different players, formations etc. before the NL starts.

Richards would bankrupt the FAI on his hair cuts alone.

But imagine the social media engagement when Big Meeks performs an Irish jig when we score and Keano rolls his eyes. Memeable/GIF worthy stuff.
