the one thing in his favour is that he's done well at both AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord who aren't as big as Ajax or PSV Eindhoven. AZ were right in the mix to win The Eredivisie in 2020 until Covid cancelled the season with them joint top. Amorim is the better candidate, for me. Very impressed with the job he did at both Braga and now Sporting.

Slot is a better fit in terms of how his teams play relative to how Liverpool set up at the moment. No guarantee of success and its obviously possible for managers to change how they set their teams up etc.

He's having a good season, but he's fairly limited. Isn't the most technical. Doesn't win enough duels for a player of his size. France's ST options will likely be Giroud, Mbappé, Griezmann, Thuram and Kolo Muani. Palace have the makings of a good team if they can keep their best players. Andersen, Wharton, Eze, Olise and Mateta is a very good spine/nucleus. I'd expect them to sell one out of Eze/Olise. Big money. |
