This whole episode shows theres no pleasing everyone.

Bring back the Shamrock! they cry. Then the shamrock is crooked. Or they laugh about the shamrock on the socks.

Given the amount of people shouting about O'Neills you would think this jersey, basically a retooling of the 1985 jersey, would be right up their street. But no!

Jerseys come and go. We usually become attached to particular ones due to events on the pitch. If someone bags a winner wearing it next week our opinions might soften!

From an aesthetic and design point of view, the new logo is broken, not just ugly. So you are putting a broken design on a substandard quality of jersey. It's a shocker and mores the fool who parts with their money for that. What I find most amazing is that the FAI signed off on that lobsided logo design. Bring back JD, all is forgiven.

So the women's team no longer have a kit design of their own?  But the women's jersey is also available in a sponsorless version.  Which is good news, but also a massive own goal by the FAI.

Sky have forked out and sponsored the women's team in return for getting some exposure for their logo.  Who the hell is gonna buy the women's jersey with Sky on it when there is a sponsorless version available at the same price?  This is bound to affect the money Sky pay at a time when the FAI are finanicially stretched to put it mildly.

Still, from a selfish point of view it bodes well should the men's team get a new sponsor.  Or will the FAI cynically make the sponsorless shirt available only in the pro version?

It's fine, you bunch of drama queens. No better or worse than any of the other designs from recent years.

What do people expect?

Maybe something even remotely different. Were the 1st International cloent they have and literally just a bog standard Jersey. Has any of these companies any imaginative designers at all these days.

Why put a lot of thought into a short term product?

If Sky's contract has to have their logo on every jersey then that's what they would have gotten.

Fan feedback for years has always been get the damn sponsors off the replica jerseys.

Someone a few months back mentioned the Castore logo looks like an SAS one. I haven't been able to shake that comment, every time I see it, that's what springs to mind.
