We're fooked all over the park bud.

Up front: nobody we can rely on, bar the myth of Ferguson turning into Haaland, everyone firing blanks
Midfield: not much to go off bar Cullen
Defence: used to be our strong point, CBs in iffy form and Doherty not even playing
GK: shaky and low confidence

It will be a miracle if the French don't tear us a new one in anyways

I’d say the last few weeks have boosted Bazunu’s confidence significantly. It must have been pretty low a few weeks back though.

Jesus that's a weak French squad

Christ were going to be slaughtered, I'd say the weakest French player in that squad would be a top player for us

So based on that squad, vs Latvia:

             Parrott    Ferguson
 O'Dowda Knight Smallbone Doherty
                   Molumby
         O'Shea Collins Andy O.
                   Kelleher

Kenny will outwit the floundering Deschamps by playing a ghost in the centre of the pitch

What would you change in it though?
Only thing would be to swap out with Hendrick and McGrath with Azaz and Szmodics (who both have no experience at international level), but even with that it's still a decent midfield based on form.

And he definitely had some falling out with Ryan Manning.

The phrase is  - an asses roar  -  because they are loud when when they call, ass as in the animal.

Did you see many arses roaring in your time  ?

Smallbone in for hourihane.
Mikey Johnston in as well.

Apart from that not much change

Goalkeepers: Gavin Bazunu (Southampton), Caoimhin Kelleher (Liverpool), Mark Travers (AFC Bournemouth).

Defenders: Seamus Coleman (Everton), Matt Doherty (Atletico Madrid), Andrew Omobamidele (Norwich City), Nathan Collins (Wolverhampton Wanderers), John Egan (Sheffield United), Dara O'Shea (West Bromwich Albion), Callum O'Dowda (Cardiff City), James McClean (Wigan Athletic).

Midfielders: Josh Cullen (Burnley), Jayson Molumby (West Bromwich Albion), Jeff Hendrick (Reading), Alan Browne (Preston North End), Jason Knight (Derby County), Will Smallbone (Stoke City, on loan from Southampton), Jamie McGrath (Dundee United), Mark Sykes (Bristol City).

Forwards: Chiedozie Ogbene (Rotherham United), Michael Obafemi (Burnley), Evan Ferguson (Brighton and Hove Albion), Adam Idah (Norwich City), Troy Parrott (Preston North End, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur), Will Keane (Wigan Athletic), Mikey Johnston (Vitoria, on loan from Celtic).
Surprised there’s no room for a grafter like Hourihane 🤔

I'd have him there ahead of McGrath and possibly Sykes but as someone said maybe on a backup list fair enough. We need his experience and cool head off the subs bench to steady things if we are chasing a goal or defending a lead. Smallbone unproven at international level as well so the jury is out.

I'm not sure you could say its the weakest ever squad we've had, but I think we would struggle to identify our talisman, or even our 'leader'. I don't think we could say hand on heart that the sum total is better than its individual parts. Its great that Ferguson will draw a line under this nonsense about his future, but apart from that there is little to truly give way to expectation.

There has been loads more poorer squads then this one. It's still weak enough but quibbling over a few fringe players, who may or may not improve it a little can't change the situation we are in.

I am more optimistic than usual though as Ferguson and Obafemi could be a very good partnership and Smallbone is getting better having played a full season so far.

By March 28th I'll most likely be pessimistic again, but it's best to enjoy this period of the campaign, the bit where we haven't played yet.

It would damage this forums' reputation

Yet.. Kenny will deploy him as a last minute surprise to win us the game with a set peace

It's pretty much as expected - I  had hoped he might have announced an extended squad to give the fringe players in good form a chance to impress and maybe even get some minutes against Latvia if they do well, but he doesn't seem to like introducing more than 1/2 new faces per squad.
We're decent enough..

Quality squad. Young and inexperienced in some areas, but they have a lot of potential.

That's potentially two of Lilian Thuram's sons capped at senior level. Khéphrem is a good talent.

The one thing I will say is that a lot of their attackers needs space to run into. If we play with a low block, that can nullify some of them. Theo and Griezmann will be their key men in terms of creativity.
