Emakhu is a serious talent, he only turned 20 in October.

Brilliant .... lovely one two
Flying so high, trying to remember
How many cigarettes did I bring along?
When I get down I'll jump in a taxi cab
Driving through London town, to cry you a song

Think Springett could be a difference maker if you could get him on midway through the second halfway.

I'd have him on for Leavy, but neither Healy or Leavy have been great.

Decent performance, decent quality game for the age grade. We have played well, competed well, we just lack a bit of quality in midfield. We can get a result here, would like to see Phillips get a spin. Missing the likes of Hodge and Moran. Emakhu excellent as was Roughan.

Interesting that Anselmo Garcia is captaining the team. Thought Lawal would take the captains armband with Hodge and Moran out.

Just looks like a lot of midfielders when we look a whole lot better with pace on the wings.  Springett, Oxo-flex, Gilsenan and Vata all benched/ not in squad or demoted to u19s when that has worked well for us recently.
Negative Crawford ball at its finest, hoping we can bore Norway to death as a tactic.

Brooks, Abankwah, Adaramola, Phillips, O'Neill, Springett, Okoflex, Kenny, and Murphy make up the bench.

Leavy a good shout, he is a very good ball carrier with an eye for goal and is very strong for small enough lad. Good team selection imo, hopefully get a result now.

Looks like a 5-3-2 perhaps?

Keeley; Curtis, Lawal, O'Riordan, Garcia MacNulty (c),  Roughan; Adeeko, Healy, Leavy; Armstrong, Emakhu

Leavy in...
Crawford always fitting in as many LOI players as he can.. definitely an agenda. LOL

The Under-21 team serves no purpose other than developing players for the senior team. When a player is ready and needed (both applies with Moran), then they should be promoted. He is exactly where he should be.

He is arguably ready, he is certainly not needed!
He’ll probably be a late sub against NZ

Agreed, I understand both viewpoints, but I think getting to a U21 Euros would be a huge benefit for what is a very strong crop of underage players. Perhaps the culture should change in that regard and we should start taking U21 football more seriously (I'd have Omobamidele and Parrott with the U21s tonight also).

Anyway unfortunately tonight, I think Moran's absence (coupled with other injury related absences Hodge, Gilsenan, Springett) will cost the U21s the chance of a positive result.
