Some going having a "stinker" and managing to play the full 90 minutes, during which 3 other attackers were substituted....
We're decent enough..

Nothing against the kid. I just don't like our players being overhyped . Also I haven't written him off. I am just saying you can't play him in midfield . He is a no 10. You can't play him anywhere else.

Didn’t watch the game today, but Moran has 3 goals and 9 assists in about 20 games worth of football (1800 minutes) which is quite good for a 20 year old playing his first senior minutes in a struggling Championship team??

1 goal in 24 championship matches . And you know what john giles says about stats.

Moran played in midfield today and he was a disaster . He has no defensive awareness and kept giving the
ball way .

And the blackburn fans are livid with him.

Started out brightly, faded a bit in December. Totally expected though, first senior season & it's in the relentless Championship schedule. On top of that Blackburn have a thin, inexperienced squad, so they haven't been able to rest him when he's needed it.
It's a stereotypical "tough loan" for him, & it will stand to him long term. I just hope he doesn't get injured from being over played at this point.

He's done well overall, better than I hoped he would actually. Especially considering he's been played wide pretty much all season.

He's still one of Blackburn's (& Ireland's) most creative players:
6 league assists (most for both Blackburn & any Irish player in any relevant league)
9 assists in all competitions (same as above)
35 Key Passes (joint 1st for Blackburn, 3rd for Irish players)
70 Shot Creating Actions (3rd for Blackburn, 4th for Irish players)
4.09 SCA/90 (1st for Blackburn, 2nd for Irish players)
8 Goal Creating Actions (2nd for Blackburn, 3rd for Irish players)
0.47 GCA/90 (1st for Blackburn, 1st for Irish players)

Everything there^ is only league form (except the overall 9 assists). He's done really well in the Cups games too:
5 games, 2 goals, 3 assists, 12 Key Passes.

Your a stats man . What about the eye test . He has a very inconsistent first touch , he goes from the sublime to the awful during a game . He is not a natural footballer.

The blackburn fans don't rate jom , think that elliot was a far better footballer .

I don't know who Jom is, and I'm sure Elliot is a better footballer.Wink

But I think you're expecting too much of a young player in his first season (which itself is a very good level).

If we had a 30yo Wes Hoolahan (who was playing LOI at 23, btw) kicking about we wouldn't be over analysing a 20yo in his first season. But the lack of funding in domestic football across decades has left us with a huge age gap in the middle of the National Team, generally 6-15 years, but there's 21 years between Hoolahan & Moran.

Moran is doing fine. He's shown plenty positives already.
"Young player is inconsistent" is hardly a new phenomenon.

I am not a troll. In spite of what you might think, Moran has not had a successful loan spell with Blackburn . If he did all the Blackburn supporters wouldn't want him benched or sent back to Brighton.

That Wharton kid who left them and is at Palace now is a far better footballer than him and will have a much more successful career.

Funnily enough, Wharton has less goals and assists in more games than Moran has managed for Blackburn this season. He came on early yesterday for Palace and really struggled, perhaps to be expected from a young lad in his first EPL appearance. In any case, I can't imagine Brighton would swap him for Moran based on his fairly average goal contributions by Championship standards - Palace's splurging is perhaps more a sign of the "English tax" than anything else.

Of course he has more assists . Wharton was playing as a defensive midfielder where as Moran was playing as a forward. And Moran has was one goal in 24 championship games which is very poor for a forward.

And if you think Moran is anywhere near as talented footballer as Wharton, then you must not have watched him or if you have your clueless.

This Foden lad is like something from the Matrix. Comes on here bleating about club supporters' negative views on Irish players whilst sharing his own negatives views on the same players. Hopefully there are lads on the Blackburn forums saying Moran is crap and referring to the view of "Ireland supporters" to underpin their assertion.

I have not slated all our players . I have praised Finn Azaz and singled him out as our future no 10.
I said that people were getting carried away with Ferguson and I have been proven right as he hasn't scored in 12 games .

And I think Parrot has the potential to be a premier league striker . I also think Joe Hodge could be a decent defensive midfielder.

You haven't denied that you're not a fool.

So when you cant refute my arguments you resort to ad hominem attacks.

Answer me this who is the more talented player between Wharton and Moran and who is more likely to have the more successful career.

Answer it without looking like a fool . I dare ya!
