Kerrigan got half an hour off the bench for Como in a Serie B game at the weekend.

He came on in the 81th minute for Como.
Good to see him back playing after a tough year out with injury.

That plus if they go up it'll be even more of a disaster

Hopefully the warm weather will aid his recovery. Hey, you've got to try and find positives wherever you can.

What's that....six months?!
Unbelievable bad luck with injuries for Irish players it seems.

Best of luck to him over what will be a long Winter.

9-12 months generally and thats without setbacks. Players usually then struggle to get their fitness back after such a long layoff too and keep getting further niggles on their way to recovery. Nightmare for the lad.

It sure seems that way at times. We always seem to have a huge throng of players out every Intl gathering. Loads of players with careers stunted by injury. Players picking up serious injuries with the worst possible timing after moving over or establishing themselves; Sean Maguire, Danny Grant, Liam Kerrigan, Dara O'Shea, Andrew Omobambidele, Adam Idah...

It's easy to forget now but Shane Duffy is another one years and years ago now. Though he was extremely lucky in the grand scheme of things.

Could be here all day really. It's another sickener, but you grow used to them.

Yeah big footballing family. Nathan, his brother Josh, cousins Michael and Joe all play/played professional as did all their da's Dave, Mick and Eamon. All still heavily involved in the game too as coaches and agents.

There was a good interview with Nathans dad on Off The Ball a few months back, was either after he made his Ireland debut or after his goal vs Ukraine cant remember which. Worth a listen.

Possibly, theres been a couple lads in Serie B, C and below who's playing records aren't easily available / mostly incomplete.

The more obvious ones like Ronnie O'Brien and Ryan Nolan never scored anyway.

I think Conor McCormack and Michael Collins were signed by Triestina but never played, or got paid, due to administrative issues. Can't think of anyone else who's played at a professional level in Italy.

Some achievement for the lad. He's come a long way from stacking shelves in Super Valu.
