Might as well bill it as 'Republic of Ireland vs Haaland'

Maybe Haaland might have a case of CBA

They’d hardly wait until after the Euro 2024 draw on Oct 9th would they?

Possibly depending on who they're talking too. If it's someone that will be in the same pot as us they probably won't wait that long

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn

Pots are based on UNL final places so not known until end of Sept.

That's what I was thinking - they'll wait until after this month's games are finished and then see who else will most likely be in the same seeding pot as us and try and get one of those teams knowing there's no chance of getting them in the qualifying group.
The nation holds it's breath...YES, WE'RE THERE!!!

Risky approach though as other nations have firmed up.

I imagine they have the teams picked and are just waiting to confirm.

A little birdy tells me that Norway at home and Malta away are lined up but no confirmation until after the Euro 2024 draw next month in case we get them in our group.

Malta isn't a new country. It's been inhabited since 5900BC

USA still don't have a pre World Cup friendly confirmed. You'd think they'd fancy a game against us or Scotland given Wales and England are in their group. Iran are the other team in that group and they are scheduled to play Russia on the 15th of November which FIFA wont sanction so maybe another possibility there although I can't see that happening.
