Sweden and Croatia have Friendlies lined up for nov 16th so there is a “window”. Not sure when we could fit in a second one though.

Yeah it's got bit parallels to NFL, 20 years after professionalism in both (i a generation of players getting big and having a 10 year career), they saw the effects. NFL purists hate the modern game, but I still love watching it. I'd imagine Rugby will be the same.

With the world cup being brought forward by a day ( subject to confirmation) will this have an effect on us trying to squeeze two games into the week especially that we are not flexible with dates due to Rugby side playing the Saturday at the Aviva.

Simple solution.  Friendly vs. Italy.  Was supposed to play them in March, but now can as they aren't going to World Cup either.

Romania and Slovenia both have Friendlies set for 17 & 20 so potentially they are the dates we are looking at.

Nov 20th is the day the World Cup starts so surprised FIFA will allow that - maybe Friendlies were set before FIFA decided that after years of planning they would move the opening match a day forward.

Agree with 20th doubt any other games will be allowed on that date which woukd shift to 19th but that may have a knock on effect on the home game which had been agreed

Can't be on the 19th - is there not an egg-chasing match at LR that day?

I'd imagine we will have a home game on the Tuesday or Wednesday and an Away game on the Saturday. Don't forget both codes need the Aviva stadium on the eve of a game too for a run out at match time for the visiting FA and the "Captain's Run" for the Rugby lads.

Strange that so little international friendlies have  been confirmed for this International window. And most of the ones confirmed are between neighbouring countries like Romania v Moldova etc..

I'd say most Countries are probably waiting until after the Euro qualifying groups are announced before confirming their November friendlies, especially any potential friendlies against European opposition. Maybe it would not matter as much if the friendlies were against countries from the Americas, Africa etc.

What's the latest this can be played?

Could it be in the last week of November?

Who knows? We've never had a winter world cup to interfere with the October and November windows before.

Id imagine we could technically play any time right up to the WC Final on 18th December.

FIFA probably just wont want fixtures being played on World Cup match days.

WC starts on 20 Nov and there's matches every day until the 6th December.. weekending 19th is probably the latest as can't imagine FIFA or UEFA sanctioning a game during the tournament matchdays. Suppose in theory they could play during the break between the last 16 and the quarters. 7th or 8th December
