So you're saying we should be building Kenny a statue instead? Now thats something I can get behind!

Let’s make Deutschland 24 and we can consider it

I think you'd have a better chance of petitioning the FAI to get one of the stands in the Aviva named The Jack Charlton Stand.

Of course, it's not straightforward with the IRFU being involved as well.

It's a really poor show by the FAI that there has been no official major celebration of Charlton's life and achievements at any of the games since his passing.
None of the stands have names, can’t see it happening. Maybe Dublin City council could do something.
contacted them before and then never got  reply.

Also recently contacted Aodhan O'Riordan. As yet no reply apart from his secretary.

I think you've under sold that a bit! Doesn't the full ownership of the stadium revert back to them at some stage?

It would be a really nice tribute to Jack to have a stand named after him but unfortunately I can't see it ever happening. Maybe John Delaney Park in Clones could be renamed.

It was a 60 year lease from 2010 afaik which was estimated as the shelf life of the stadium before it would need a rebuild. The site remained in IRFU ownership and if the stadium lasts longer than 60 years then it'll be under IRFU ownership alright. The spin from JD about him delivering a home for Irish football was laughable stuff.

Many drivers can barely get through that roundabout safely as it is without having a big statue to take their eyes off the road. You'd have people running across trying to get selfies too.

Would be a natural place to put it alright but for it's on a very busy intersection.

Ah I know it was said tongue in cheek by the poster but I'm sure it is a 'what if' location idea many people would really float. So just adding why it wouldn't be practical to put any distraction on that roundabout
