The BBC has been rapidly shedding its best journalists including Emily Maitlis. They’ve been getting out because of the government’s hostility and destructive approach towards the organisation. It has always been a propaganda unit to some extent but the loss of its best people, the promotion of Tory loyalists at governance level and the appointment of a braindead gibbering loon like Nadine Dorries to Culture Secretary have resulted in ever more restrictive editorial guidelines and practices. Question Time is completely unwatchable these days. Trying to cast Mick Lynch as a Scargill / Bob Crow type bogeyman has backfired spectacularly. He has no fear and is adept at recognising where questioning is going. He has totally owned most of the hacks trying to depict him as some sort of extremist and is winning the PR war. The Tories are tone deaf and don’t seem to realise that there is widespread public sympathy for the strike, often from people who got used to working from home during the pandemic and don’t mind doing it again.

Anyone who knows anything about the RMT wouldn't have been surprised to see the stance they took in 2016. As radical as they come.

I imagine he supported Brexit from a wage point of view. Why pay a fella £500 when a fella from Poland will take £400.

Also we need to move away from the idea that if we find one thing we don’t agree with someone that we then dismiss their views. Most people of any intelligence don’t agree with their 10 year old self never mind someone or a party that they agree with on everything.
