Surprised this industry hasn't taken a massive hit with the advent of smartphones. Must be a jewellery piece more than anything functional. Never liked wearing them myself even before smartphones came in.

Never worn one. Find them annoying and now there is no practical reason for having one.

i have a garmin fitness watch. while it records my runs (no more 90-120 mins in a week) it is mainly used as a watch. i'd imagine the vast majority of adults wear them.

Fitness watches are definitely the future. Read an article recently about how medicine at the moment is reactive, people feel sick and they go to their doctor. Future smart watches may pick up on stuff long before a problem shows up. Sure some smart watches can do a basic ECG on your heart.

Had a watch as a teenager that's about as long as I've ever had one. So I wasn't using one long before mobile phones came along. I find them irritating
