Only found out in recent years that it's real name is Breathnach's Bargains. The mrs got a slab of 24 cans of diet coke in there last year for €2. Now there was only a week left of the best before but still.

Its not a bad a shopping centre now used to be right kip back in the 80s and 90s.

Used to be know as S.O.S for Stale or Stolen, was always being raided for selling dodgy and stolen stuff.

They were done for selling fake Viagra and other prescription meds few years ago LOL

I saw probably the most over priced item ever in a shop the other day.

In a hot food counter, one single (smallish) battered sausage was £3.85.

I still bought it mind you, was hungover and starving LOL

Found a local coffee shop which does all coffee for 2.50.  Even an extra shot.

Most places are 3.50 for a flat white but one place was 4.25.

The Government refused a Sinn Fein motion to stop a price increase at the pumps

More hikes on the way, because hitting motorists in a cost of living crisis will save the planet.

Not sure if they do it at home but once thing I’ve noticed over here is that if you ask for something like an oat milk flat white, they charge you the normal price of a flat white (which includes normal milk) along with the cost of adding oat milk.

Also got asked in a costa which beans I wanted for an americano (dark or medium roast were the options). I said medium assuming they were the normal beans, but got charged extra because they were upselling. Had to say that I only wanted the usual beans they use. It’s not much but it’s a sly way of getting extra from you.

To be fair, they don't put price caps on any other product, getting a bit big brother if they can do that, there'd be nothing then stopping Shell selling their oil to Irish petrol stations at €2 a litre given they know the government will pick up the tab. It's be the biggest windfall profit year ever for oil companies

When I'm in the office I sometimes go to the Spar Store on Baggot Street (opposite O'Donoghues). The price charged for a fresh chicken wrap with salad stuff is about 6 quid and they put the bare minimum on it. The odd time I'll ask for a little more of whatever ingredient, not because I want loads on it but because they've put on so little. You can be guaranteed any time this happens that there's an extra charge. Miserable f**kers.

Yup got a roll recently in a Spar store in Limerick. Used to always stop off here on the way to work and get a roll with chicken tikka. Some workers would pack the roll out and others were stingy but never charged if you asked for a bit more. Now they charge you 50c if you ask for a bit more.

In Kilkenny last week and was shocked a Chicken Fillet roll with two fillings was only €4.75. The best one yet is a small shop in Killaloe who charges €4 for a chicken fillet roll with two fillings.

I've paid close to 7e.

They were 3e.

Did you ever see the prices in the shops in town for some of this stuff!

I eat the protein bars as a substitute for normal chocolate bars - and I pay 1.80e when I buy them online
5e in town.

A can of coke or similar 2e

I'd nearly drive from D13 to Kilkenny for that price.

I'd go the odd time to starbucks as the drive through is handy
March 2021 - 9.10
May 2021 - 9.30
March 2022 - 9.50
May 2023 - 10.10

Always felt like I was getting robbed before, but over 10 euros for two very mediocre coffees is nuts
