this would be even more impressive than the sinking of the moskva as the makarov is a state of the art frigate which entered service just 5 or so years ago.
Any confirmation on this yet?

no, doesn't look like it happened.

Putin enjoying his military parade today.

Didn't call for a general mobilization though.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

I'm relieved this day went to past without a general mobilisation. I doubt it will happen Now. Best case scenario they Push the Russians back to pre February positions. They'll likely never get Crimea or the separatist region's back.

They'll turn into sh*t holes as the rest of Ukraine prospers in the EU.

Russian armoured column targeted. First few vehicles hit mines while artillery targets the rest . https://twitter.com/Blue_Sauron/status/1523925330578321415?t=LJDma6NAYZy7CYzWBfI4SQ&s=19

It's like a computer game the way you can watch all these attacks online.

pretty bizarre alright. the addition of ukrainian "RA songs" as a soundtrack to these videos takes some getting used to.

Russians pulling back north of Kharkiv now. Hopefully they can cut off their supply line now in the north east. Russians making some gains in the Donbass over the last week. Not sure where the next Ukrainian breakthrough can happen but please God it does.

Great to see Finland and NATO one step closer. Sweden not far behind.

Coleman, do you know how much the sanctions affect Russia's ability to make it's own armaments?
basically a lot of the stuff with electronics in it is not being built at the moment. Russia is a huge extractor of raw material but its manufacturing industry is small. when was the last time you picked up something that said made in russia? That lack of a manufacturing base is hurting them.

Their missile factories are unable to build missiles at the moment (unable to import the electronic components) and only yesterday the Ukrainians released a video where they took apart a russian drone. It was made from off the shelf components from Japanese DSLR cameras. A real hotch potch effort, something you'd expect a TYO student to put together.

Another example is from the russian air force who have had to resort to using off the shelf civilian grade GPS units from the west. Footage and photographs from their aircraft has revealed how pilots have fixed these devices to the dash of their aircraft. this makes them more vulnerable as the devices can be picked up by the ukrainians.

all in all the sanctions are most definitely hurting the russian arms industry.

Russia's Uralvogonzavod shuts down production. It will no longer be able to assemble any of T-72 tank (main RU tank) or newer T-90 & T-14 tanks (Armata). Reason: lack of imported components. It means more saved UA lives, is direct result of Western sanctions which should continue

Hope they will run out of fridges too…

sanctions are working...the russians have resorted to stripping fridges, washing machines, microwaves etc... LOL

meanwhile the ukrainians have pushed the russians back to the border east of kharkiv. the city is pretty much out of artillery range, mariupol is still holding out and the russian advance is going nowhere in the donbas.

Did you see the failed river crossing attempt? About 70 armoured vehicles lost by the Russians. Almost a full BTG worth.
