He ran 20.54 which is a good run. It's about the best he could have expected.

Great run by Coscoran earlier to get into the semi's as he was the 2nd slowest in his heat.

He wouldn't set me free,

Finished 9th in London I think and 6th in Rio and has done relatively well on the non Olympic pentathlon circuit . Wouldn't be necessarily a shock if she picked up a medal

It would be hunky dory if she did pick up a medal, she certainly looked crisp at the fencing that’s for sure.

Although youd never know reading this thread, there is an irish women with a chance of a gold medal in the next day or so. Obviously not from the right demographic for some here to salute.

Superb in fairness. That 50km walk is an absolute brute of a thing.

The other Irish lad in the same race finished 28th/29th and I read it was highest ever finish in the discipline, which ultimately begs the question....how in the name of god did he qualify? LOL In all fairness surely the money allocated to that lad could be better used elsewhere.

His preferred event was the 20k and he's now focused on the 50k.

I see the 50km walk not on the line up for Paris being replaced by a shorter team event

It’s much like the marathons coming 29th in a much bigger field isn’t that bad overall. Usually we have 3 runners in both men’s and woman’s marathon as the standards aren’t that tough compared to other standards and mainly to reduce the amount of some countries athletes to 3.

Disaster in the equestrian event for Coyle.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Sure was, gone from 4th to 17th.

Such a strange event. The horses are randomly selected aren't they?
