I'm amazed how there's so much uncertainty about TAA. He's so good even if he's a below than usual season.

He’s not a great defender, but if England want to win the tournament they will need him in their team.

At the latter end of a tournament a team needs good defenders. All well and good flying forward from full back if you have decent cover behind you. No coincidence TTA has been poor when VVD has been out of the Liverpool team. I'd have Walker in first at RB.

Trent would be worth having in the squad for his set pieces alone

Trent has been excellent in recent weeks and that’s with a pair of inexperienced defenders who I hadn’t heard of this time last year playing behind him. His attacking attributes far outweigh his defensive inabilities, Walker is not expected to attack for Man City as Cancelo and Zinchenko do much more attacking on the other side! Suppose it all depends on how brave the manager wants to be.

One of the right backs will be cut. Be surprised if it wasn’t Trent given how Southgate seems to not rate him

He was the worst keeper in the league the season before too.

I'm amazed he's even made it as far as the provisional squad.

I think there's value to be had at Austria winning their group at 11/2 - I just can't take the Dutch seriously with Frank De Boer in charge!

I've gone Austria & Belgium top their groups + Wales & Scotland eliminated at group stages at 33/1

33 man squad annouced by England

7 to be dropped?

Either Ramsdale or Johnstone, Godfrey, White, Saka, One of James, Trippier, Walker (unless Walker plays more as CB) or Alexander Arnold, Rashford or Greenwood , the last will depend on fitness of Maguire/Phillips/Henderson you'd imagine

I assume that 5 are gone

Then fitness may decide the other 2 - Big head and Hendo

Would say Watkins over DCL misled, and Trippier over TAA, Godfrey another but yeah, fitness will decide that!

Why not ?

He would have coached a lot of the ex-Ajax lads.

Won 4 leagues in a row.
Not a common thing in Holland.

Then you look at his record outside of Ajax and it’s as spoofing as it gets with Palace, Atlanta and Inter and even set an unwanted record with the current Dutch lot.

Too unreliable to not back Austria at them odds
