19s going five at the back. That or possibly Adaramola or Lawal is playing in midfield.

Are the lads based (staying/training) at St George's park for these qualifiers? Given two of the three games are being played there.

Johnny Kenny has been set back by injury and covid since he moved to Celtic. But he is back from injury now and has been starting for the Celtic B team for their last two matches. Kenny scored on his starting debut for Celtic, the second match didn't go to well with a 3-0 loss to Rangers B. Kenny had a great international window with the ROI U-19s last November scored a goal a game in all the three matches so he probably earned his place in the squad TBF and he is back fit and playing.

The amount of attacking talent not even making any of the 17/19 sqaud is very very encouraging with a view to the future. We can't have enough of it.

Pearce was on standby for the November sqaud as well and that's with Moran and O'Neill missing from what I recall. I wouldn't worry too much about that a while. Kavanagh I'd hold less fears about.

That certainly adds up. Johnny Kenny can consider himself lucky having not kicked a ball since the end of the LoI season. We're very light up top. Explains why O'Neill has dropped back and likely he'll feature heavily and not at all in Sweden. Strange Luke Pearce is therefore not involved. Edited by Fozz - 21 Mar 2022 at 5:43pm |

Had wondered if Kavanagh had maybe been kept back by his club because Harrogate will have games during the international window. But, looking at the table, they have nothing really to play for so I'm not sure that's the reason why he's missing.

The 21s and 19s will probably be together so for the next week with the 21s flying out to Sweden on Sunday after the 19s play Portugal.

He's back with the 17's, where he can play every game as opposed to being on the bench for the 19s. Surprised Kavanagh is missing though. |

Zefi will be with the U17 in Portugal for the Elite Round of their qualifiers I'd imagine.
No need for him to jump up to just be sat on the bench!

That's a fine squad. The following lads miss out from the qualifiers:
Arlo Doherty Val Adedokun Sam Curtis David Okagbue Kevin Zefi Aidomo Emakhu Finn Benoa and Callum Kavanagh are two other names missing. Cristiano Fitzgerald, Harry Vaughan, Luke Pearce, Jamie Mullins, Zak Gilsenan (injury), Oisin Gallagher, Ben McCormack are other names- plenty of whom have senior experience.

Squad announced for the elite phase of the qualifiers. SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT GOALKEEPERS JOSH KEELEY | DAN ROSE DEFENDERS JAMES ABANKWAH | TAYO ADARAMOLA ANSELMO GARCIA MACNULTY | BOSUN LAWAL SEAN ROUGHAN | ALEX MURPHY | SEAN GREHAN MIDFIELDERS BABA ADEEKO | EVAN CAFFREY | KIAN CORBALLY CIAN HAYES | JACK HENRY-FRANCIS ED MCJANNET | GLORY NZINGO FORWARDS SINCLAIR ARMSTRONG | JOHNNY KENNY ANDREW MORAN | OLLIE O'NEILL You always end up looking for the names that aren't there as much as anything with these squads. No Finn Benoa, no sign of Calum Kavanagh either. Harry Vaughan is another I'd have expected to see in there. Ollie O'Neill double jobbing with the Under 21s, so he's got a busy week coming up.

Callum Kavanagh was actually born in Cardiff, Wales. Not England so that's untrue also
