Don't recall Dundalk faring so spectacularly poorly against similar Dutch opposition just last year.

And yet some still seem to love in a dreamworld where the Scottish Premiership is significantly stronger than the LoI outside of Celtic and Rangers.

It really doesn't reflect well for mcgrath either to be honest, he's in the midfield of the team that are effectively uncompetitive in every metric.

I seriously don't think he's a player that improves the ireland squad.

Hearts will be the first team outside the top two to play group stage football since rebranding the Uefa Cup to Europa League.

To be fair the Scottish teams outside of the top two never benefit from the Champions Path in Europe because they can never win the domestic league with the two Glasgow teams there. If the LoI had to go through the same qualification process as those Scottish teams do there would literally never have been a LOI team in the group stages of European competition. The Champions Path is what has made it possible for Rovers and Dundalk.

On the receiving end of a 9-0 thumping against celtic. He was on the bench for the game and only came on for the last 35 mins already 6-0 down at the time.

Not sure if he's been injured but he's struggling to reclaim the form he had at St Mirren

24 goals conceded in the last five matches while only scoring one. After a good start beating AZ Alkmaar it's been all downhill since then. He came off at half time in the last league game so might have picked up a knock. Played the full 90 in three of his six games.

Goodwin probably wishes his ban had already started since they're getting spanked 4-0 but the worst team in Scotland atm

McGrath impressed against Portugal last year.

Surprised that he appears not to have progressed

Yeah McGrath did very well i thought in his few appearances, hard to fault him on anything. His club form really went out the window with the move to Wigan which is why he was dropped I assume.

The devil will be in the detail of whatever loan agreement was signed but the new Wigan manager Kolo Toure may well see him as an asset for a team that is currently in danger of relegation. Championship football would obviously be better for him than SPL.
