Have we ever had more than three black boys on the pitch at the same time?

I feel there must have been other occasions where there were three but four might be a first-time thing when it inevitably happens.

Maybe Tets has the answer?
Yes of course.

We almost had a Black 4 ; McGrath, Babb, Phelan.

I think their was 4th person ....Curtis Flemming. Do remember they all played together towards the end of a friendly in the mid to late 90s

Day won't be far off I reckon when we see an XI with over half of them black or mixed race

Going by the names on this list - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Black_Irish_sportspeople - there were four player of mixed heritage on the pitch twice for Ireland
Darren Randolph and Cyrus Christie started, and Michael Obafemi and Callum Robinson came on against Denmark in November 2018: https://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/report-denmark-0-0-ireland

More recently, Randolph and Adam Idah started, and Robinson and David McGoldrick came on against Finland last September: https://www.fai.ie/ireland/match/2014/2021/2030003?tab=report

There wasn't an overlap between Hughton and Babb or Curtis Fleming.

Randolph; Kelly, McGrath, Babb, Phelan, Hughton; S.Reid, ?; Robinson, McGoldrick, Morrison off the top of my head.

Need one more, preferably a central midfielder to partner Steven Reid. Seeing as he has over 20 caps and has played in midfield I'd suggest Cyrus Christie, but he was bad enough at RB let alone playing him in midfield again.

Alternatively you could play Paul McGrath alongside Steven Reid in central midfield in a 4-4-2 and just play Cyrus Christie further forward with less of an onus on defending. McGoldrick off Morrison. Robinson on the left.

Surprising lack of central midfielders. Probably works better in a 3-5-2, a bit like our current team.

                        Randolph
         Babb Omobamidele Kelly
Christie                                   Hughton
                McGrath     Reid
                     McGoldrick
              Morrison    Robinson

Subs: Bazunu, Williams, Fleming, Phelan, Ogbene, Best, Idah

Injuries really decimated Leon Best. Looked like he was going to be a serious option for us at one stage. Netted a hat-trick against Newcastle and went on a run of scoring goals in the PL but they quickly dried up.

Phelan has to be left wing and highton right

Terry would have been a great left wing back
