It should be noted that from 1 January 2021, these restrictions also apply to third-country nationals residing in the United Kingdom, including UK nationals who do not fall under the provisions of the Withdrawal Agreement (see FAQs)

Third-country nationals may no longer enter the territory of the Grand Duchy until 30 September.

I take this to mean as I reside in England, having an Irish passport is irrelevant and I would be refused entry? Was thinking of driving there.

There is a return flight for €9 on the Monday evening after the game from a nearby airport, however Flibco normally run a shuttle bus from Luxembourg to this airport but at the moment it's not running due to covid restrictions and my fear is that they may not re-commence this route. Unless you use the same outbound flight on the Friday which costs €40 and hire a car it might be useful to someone.

Which nearby airport ?

If it's a Ryanair airport it's probably "Luxembourg - South" which I imagine is close to Tripoli.

Looking at route options and leaning towards Paris or Brussels in and out from Dublin. TGV from Paris looks like a very good option, nice and quick- the Brussels-Lux trip looks like more of a rattler.

Couldn't have been unless it was added into a sale by accident, that flight back on Monday was €160/170 last week when I was looking.

It was working out around 260 or so to fly Friday back Monday and that was with the Friday flight being just under €100 I think it was
