Agreed! The guy’s a f**king gobsh*te who likes to try and be controversial

I can assure you they didn't win the European Cup in 93 if you have any doubt and nearly never milked a cow. The money invested in the perceived top European leagues has destroyed competition on a wider base throughout Europe.

Paul McKnight from Belfast, who was on Rangers' books for years including during the Gazza era, was a good lad liked by everybody who knew him. Never got a break at Rangers as they kept signing multi-million pound players during his time there and he was plagued with injuries throughout his career. Capped by NI at every level except full international level because of that, played for St.Mirren in the SPL and in the Irish League for Linfield and Glenavon among others, immensely talented player who would have gone far but for all the injury problems.

I imagine that will be as much a relief to them as for you!

But still, you're probably right, ACAB, including eg this one:

As we have seen in Clapham tonight, all cops are bastards. All. f**k them. Scum of the earth.

His (look at me, look at me daddy, aren't I going against the grain because I'm an attention seeker) article sums him up.

I think he was just purposefully trying to be contrarian by saying he "revered" some Rangers players when he was just a typical rebellious teen to his Celtic supporting mates. It suited him years later to lose interest in Rangers and say it was always just the players he liked when he matured into adulthood. He comes across as completely disingenuous.

He's an absolute fookin bore as an analyst too. We'll have to suffer him for the next 30 years as a pundit on RTE.

Roy Keane, Liam Brady & Brian Kerr would be a lot more entertaining as an RTE panel for Ireland games which is admittedly very unlikely. LOL

I can't say I am as concerned about a UI as I once was, but I don't think a few lads jeering a very silly song is going to be in anyway decisive.

It's a rivalry and it will happen. I wouldn't bother booing a song myself, but if others want to... It doesn't make anyone look big or clever, but that's some of the fun of supporting football  I would be against national anthems being played before sporting events at all, but that's another matter.

I don't get the problem with booing opposition players, no matter how trivial or frivolous the reason. Boo them all!

Be that as it may, I still felt the booing had a serious bang of 'Armchair Republican' off of it.

Controversial one but have a lot of time for Steven Davis after his time at Saints. Brilliant player without getting the same credit as many of his teammates and an excellent professional. Just got on with it if things weren't going his way

Not sure you could call him "controversial", since in nearly 20 years a professional he's never got into any sort of bother for his conduct, on or off the field.

Compare him with eg Morelos, Brown or any number of Celtic/Rangers/NI/ROI players.
NI captain on a ROI forum/Rangers legend enough reason on a YBIG forum

True enough but Davis himself seems a decent lad and a fantastic professional. I remember him being booed in 2011 Nations Cup game at Lansdowne which was embarrassing stuff from a contingent of our support. Would've loved if he played for Ireland. I think himself and Shane Long are good mates.
Just as embarrassing as when a few of our Orish Liverpool fans gave Sterling abuse.
I'm the gaffer whatever I say goes.
