I checked Skyscanner there and the Friday 8th October flight is still going ahead so it's odd they cancelled that one and not a good omen Disapprove

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

For anyone that had taken the risk and book flights with lufthansa to Baku on the 7th Oct there has been a change on the outbound flight with a 1hr 30 stopover in Tbilisi of all places lol but thankfully there's a option for a refund.

7th Oct 2021 lufthansa Dublin / Frankfurt / Tbilisi  / Baku is now the outbound flight.

Have a few days booked off for the Serbia match alright. Would've liked to have gone abroad for it (attending obviously is out of the question) and have a few days in a sunny spot.

Even seeing a blue sky yesterday morning was the highlight of my day LOL

Yeah your not the only one fed up with this at all. There is absolutely nothing to look forward or plan for at the minute in terms of away games or even a home game at this stage would be great. The planning and chat leading up to games bes absolutely brilliant. I’m still hoping there’s a chance of getting to the games but it’s dwindling by the day.

Indeed it is dwindling by the day. But we live in hope!

I am glad though that I still booked my annual leave off in and around the matches this year, along with last year's Nations League. Even though we couldn't go anywhere it was still nice to look forward to a few days off in an around the Ireland game.

Anyone else do the same and still book their annual leave off just encase we can get to Portugal in September and the other games in October and November?

I miss everything about it as well - the chat on the travel threads on here, planning the trip, the flights, trains etc, the craic with other fans. Nowhere near the same watching on TV at home, especially when there's no fans in the stadium. Cry

Bit early for the panic-ometer.  We're about 10 months away from a game that I'd say about 20 fans have booked for at the moment. Won't know for about 6 moths whether we can travel or where it will be on so best just leave it for now and wait

I looked into Azerbaijan's home attendance and they didn't fill the 11000 seater stadium for any match in their last campaign. So as long as there's full capacity stadiums Ireland fans should get a ticket either way?

P.S feels good to finally post after years of lurking.

I’d say hold off booking flights to Baku at the minute but there will be no worries about tickets in a 60k plus stadium you will be grand as we are guaranteed 3k tickets. Hopefully things will be ok by next October to travel. The conflict seems to have settled down so fingers crossed all will be grand. I’d say most agree that Tbilisi has been the best trip of the last few games and Baku is certainly the trip that most are looking forward to already. No harm booking accommodation if you want to but make sure it’s free cancellation. Have a 7 bedroom apartment booked myself for only €270 for two nights.
Just been reading through this thread, are you sure it’s going to be in the Olympic stadium, I remember they played Wales in a much smaller stadium (about 9000 capacity) Welsh away end was a sell out.

I think that was due to work being done on the Olympic stadium  after the European games. Similarly to why Scotland used parkhead and ibrox for games instead of hampden

They play a lot of games at Quarabags home ground, pretty sure it was (is) named after the dodgy linesman from the 1966 world cup who awarded the goal to England that wasn't over the line.

Even so, Azerbaijan is never going to present ticket problems imo, those who travel will get one.

No there’s nothing confirmed yet for it anyway. To be honest I didn’t even know about the smaller stadium all I seen online was the main one. Bakcell arena is the smaller one that holds 11,000.
