Since the last set of international games played in November, here's where things are at club level. All these players have received a call up in the last 12 months:

Randolph: Started 3 -- Currently Fit
Travers: Started 8 (on loan). Hasn't played in last 5 games -- Currently Fit
Kelleher: Started 5. Hasn't played in last 5 games -- Currently Injured
O'Hara: Started 9. Hasn't played in last 7 games -- Currently Fit

Duffy: Started 8 -- 4 Sub App. Hasn't played in last 3 games -- 1 GOAL --- Currently Fit
Clark: Started 16 -- 1 Sub App. -- 1 GOAL -- Currently Fit
Christie: Started 22. Currently Fit

Doherty: Started 11 -- 3 Sub Appearances -- Currently Fit
Egan: Started 18 -- Currently Injured. MISSES IRELAND GAMES
Coleman: Started 9 -- 4 Sub App. Currently Fit
Stevens: Started 11 -- Currently Fit
Williams: Started 2 -- Hasn't played in last 15 games. Currently Injured. MISSES IRELAND GAMES

Molumby -- Started 7 (on loan) -- 4 Sub App. (Brighton/Preston) -- Currently Fit
Browne -- Started 18 -- 1 Sub App. -- 1 GOAL -- Currently Fit

Long -- Started 5 (inc. Loan spell) --  7 Sub App. (inc. loan spell) - 2 GOALS - Currently Fit
Curtis -- Started 14 -- 2 Sub App. -- 4 GOALS - Currently Fit

The above are just black and white stats that don't factor in the poor form that most of players are currently in. Also not factoring in the leagues players play in, etc. Fact is, the higher up the leagues you go, the worse the stats are.

Anyway some more stats to dip you further into a depression...

Total Club Goals scored since last International break in November:

Defenders: 3 GOALS
Midfielders: 16 GOALS
Attackers: 16 GOALS

-- Excluding, Shane Long, the last 8 forwards called up have a combination of 4 international goals between them.

-- Shane Long hasn't scored an international goal since 2016.

Of those 9 forwards, Shane Long is the only one who scored in a competitive international, back in 2016...his last international goal.

Not that it needs to be written down, but when you do, the depth of how bad things are, and the job that Kenny has on his hands, is unreal.

Good info. And it's exactly why Kenny will need a long time to sort his team out. It's the worst squad I can ever remember for a WC
It would damage this forums' reputation

I often think we were very quick to use the "sum total is better than the individual parts mantra" to describe the Irish team, but here, on paper, I think that would be a debatable suggestion. In several positions we have no obvious candidate due to the lack of playing time, we have no outstanding player, we have one player with obvious leadership qualities, four of our PL players are playing in two of the poorest sides ever to play in the PL, nobody playing in the current Top 4, and one player currently playing in European Club football. Combine that with the age of some players, the lack of form, and the injuries, and there is genuine concern that it will effectively bounce management into picking a side the side that will represent a massive regression, or else a side that that just doesn't have the abilities to compete.

Also going through this thread you'd hardly think Alan Browne was a current Republic of Ireland international while I don't think he's the answer to all our problems he's definitely ahead of Molumby in the current order. The Qatar game is actually a good game for us to have in regards giving an opportunity to our second choice goalkeeper etc..
Browne has had terrible luck with injures in international windows. Being played out of position most weeks too for Preston doesn’t help his cause. He was good against Slovakia so could well feature in Serbia.

Darren Randolph has probably been our best player in the last 2 yrs and I’d have him as my number 1 . Kelleher’s time will come but it’s not now.
One City,One County,One Club GUFC will be back.

I'd agree randolph has been our best player, not because he's made some world class saves or anything, just because... who else can you give it to.

I'd go for the below but I can't image any team we put out would stike fear

                 Randolph

  Coleman Clark oshea Stevens

     Mccarthy Cullen Hendrick

      Doherty Connolly knight

But fair play to you some work went into it.

The content  is sobering the only positive thing is this World Cup is Qatar can’t imagine it would be much craic

I think Wales lost 6-1 away to Serbia near the start of the Coleman era, in some ways Kenny's first few games have reminded me of Wales back then.

I have a very bad feeling about this one, but I'd take a similar turn around in the years to come.

I think we'll get the difficult period alright, and we might even get the turnaround eventually, but I'd be surprised if Kenny was still there to oversee the latter.

I feel bad for poor SK, this team is really bad and he'll take a lot of flack for it

Kenny pretty much being asked to polish a turd.

Best he can do is lay some solid foundations and bleed in some of the younger players with one eye on the euros.

The fact that the FAI can't afford chips at the moment means he may last that long

Yeah hard to be too optimistic going into the game against Serbia. Players generally in poor form, severely lacking someone who can score a goal, already a few injuries piling up and still another 3 weeks to go. All this coupled with Kennys bad start and the fact we have been brutal for 4 years now, not being able to go to games or even go to a pub to watch.
