They are infecting each other within the bubble.

It’s a highly infectious virus.

I pay no attention to this “no close contacts” spiel when one player is positive. Because they are all training, attending team meetings and meals, etc. And it takes a few days after coming into contact before the person will have a positive test. So there may be others before Bulgaria (if another test is done) or more probably after Bulgaria game.

I would play O’Shea RB and Robbie Brady LB.

I’m sure that will be criticised but it’s better than Christie being RB.

Thats way we should go. Or give Ryan Manning a run at LB. Nothing to lose

Look at the team (excluding goalkeeper) that we can make from missing players:

Coleman Doherty Egan Stevens
Hendrick Browne Molumby
Robinson Connolly McClean

--

.. as well as Arter and McGoldrick (retired)

I'd have the unavailable mccarthy in for the unavailable Browne and the unavailable mcgoldrick in for the unavailable mcclean but otherwise a good unavailable team.

Yep, it's not just ROI, eg:

"Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has been confined to his room when not training after six of his South Korea team-mates tested positive for Covid-19 on international duty in Austria, officials have said.

Although Son, 28, tested negative, he and the rest of the squad have been told to stay in their hotel rooms in Vienna, unless they are training."

Norway were even more unlucky (one player positive):

"The Norwegian players were on their way to the airport on Saturday to catch a chartered flight to Bucharest when authorities told them that such a journey would breach the country's stringent coronavirus measures because a player in the squad had tested positive."

Suspensions, injury, retirements, illness. All bad things in and of themselves, but at this point, its out of control. Perhaps a product of the amount of football being played in order to catch up, but its not good for the players.

Interestingly though, there are enough players to go "cautious", and I think it would be a mistake. This presents an opportunity to test players.
