Examples of over rated footballers at Man City for me would be Rodri and Gundogan
Two players who start most big games for a squad widely regarded as one of the strongest in Europe, perennial favourites or second favorites for the CL, and who don’t actually bring a lot to the table. The Midfield lacks legs and energy most of the time when they are in it.

In typical South American fashion, he was unreal for 2/3 years at Villareal before winding his career down once he approached 30. His range of passing was exceptional.

The only thing Riquelme lacked was pace.

Not the most over-rated, but Richarlison is very over-rated.

Couldn't be arsed going back through the thread, but a few people nominated Zlatan Ibrahimovic earlier.

Must be a different Zlatan from the one who's scored 10 x goals in 6 x Serie 'A' games (529 minutes) this season at the age of 39, including having had to take time off with Covid-19 at the end of September.

When i think of great players or great strikers Zlatan never comes into my thinking. I never bought into his hype. Mainly created by himself which i dont mind by the way. I could take him or leave him.

I only ever seen Riquelme in the Champions League knock outs but he was very underwhelming from what I remember tbh.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

He’s brain dead in footballing terms. He’s undoubtedly talented but consistently makes the wrong the decision.

05/06 was his peak. He was class all season for Villareal, but then missed a peno in added time against Arsenal in the semi-final 2nd leg.

I don't think he made one correct decision on the ball yesterday. His final ball was shocking.

Yeah he got villareal to within a whisker of the CL final pretty much on his own

Agree

When he moved to Everton all the talk was of the £50M transfer fee as many felt it was too much.
None of the big 6 were in for him.

He done more in that Champions League season than Zlatan ever done in the competition! Agree with whoever said Zlatan was overrated.
