I'd imagine it's still the case of winning one game and we'll finish in the top 20

Goddamn those pesky Slovakians jumping up ahead of us in the rankings!!

I suppose we'll give them a pass on tonight's result all the same.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

A win and a loss or 2 draws would leave us on the same points (well -0.2) - if either Russia or Slovakia lose both their games we finish ahead of them. We would also need  both Norway and Romania to lose a game or draw both, and Scotland, Iceland and Hungary not to win both games.

A win and a draw we gain 7.3. A draw and a loss or worse for either Russia or Slovakia and we overtake them. Norway, Iceland or Romania would pass us with 2 wins.

Two wins we gain 14.8. We would stay ahead of all teams below us regardless of their results. We need either Russia or Slovakia not to get 4 points or more. Either of Serbia or Turkey losing both games would also see us pass them out.

A win and a draw is the best and arguably the most realistic results we can get in our last two Nations League games. Hopefully we scrape into the second pot.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Best possible:

Croatia/Denmark
Wales
Ireland
Luxembourg
Andorra
San Marino

Vs.

Worst possible:

France/Belgium/England
Switzerland
Ireland
Bosnia
Armenia
Moldova

The worst possible could be worse if Germany or Netherlands drop down to pot 2 but not sure how possible that is

Games on 11th/12th are accurate, the rest aren't (they physcially can't be since they are using rankings that will be outdated by the time the next round takes effect.

Not sure how these were calculated, they look very wrong to me. Bosnia lost 4 points for losing against Iran (1424 to 1420), Finland gained 8 for beating France (1402 to 1410). Bosnia still 29th, Finland 31st with Greece in between them. Unless I'm missing something major I think the formula is wrong

Is there really much difference for us being in pot 2 or 3 looking at the teams? Seems pretty much the same level of quality pretty much accross both pots.

Not sure I agree this is the best case scenario. None of these will take points off of the Pot 1+2 teams, which we'll probably need. Otherwise we're going to have to win a game or two against the top teams ourselves.

Would be more comfortable in a group with half decent Pot 4/5 teams who might nick a point here and there, could make all the difference.

Yes, there's a pretty big difference between Switzerland and Greece

Its hardly Brazil and Andorra.

We drew at home and lost away against Switzerland last time out. I'd expect pretty much the same outcome against Greece.

Greece are ranked 54th in the world and the Swiss are ranked 16th. So yeah, no big deal.

There is a difference and hopefully we get pot 2 but in the past for Euro 2016 we where second seeds and got Germany, Poland and Scotland and the toughest 5th pot side in Georgia. For World Cup 2018 we where 4th seeds and got Wales, Austria and Serbia arguably on paper one of the easier groups we have ever drawn can go either way.
I'm the gaffer whatever I say goes.
