Rangers will peno their way into the final.

When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

The standard of European football is shocking ATM. Napoli lose to a team 5 places below Real Sociedad who got spanked by Man Utd. German teams going out to teams like Young Boys and Molde.

Then in the CL you have Atletico Madrid flying at the top of La Liga and barely able to string a pass together against Chelsea.

Surprised that Leicester are going out.

Some great potential matches in the final 16. With the likes of Ajax, AC Milan, Manchester United, Arsenal, Rangers and Roma in there and some old names making their comeback such as Dynamo Zagreb, Slavia Prague, Olympiakos, Dynamo Kiev.

Looking forward to the draw tomorrow afternoon!

Rodgers hates Europa League knockout games. Has never won one.

Liverpool 12/13 & 14/15
Celtic 17/18 & 18/19
& Leicester this year.

SP were about 5-1 tonight but when I seen the line up I didn’t go for it.

There's a tremendous late 1980s/early 1990s European Cup ambience about the Europa League this year

Though we do have English teams involved

AC Milan jammed their way past Red Star Belgrade tonight, just as they did in 1988/89

Disappointing to lose PSV Eindhoven, Benfica and Napoli as well

Pity Marseille, Steaua Bucharest and Anderlecht are not there

But Young Boys Berne are undoubtedly one of the great European names and they're still there, so that's a boon to the competition

A last four of Young Boys, Ajax, Dynamo Kiev and Rangers would be sublime stuff

It's happened before (2018/19).

And the way the two competitions are shaping up, it could happen again.

In the CL, all 3 remaining English clubs look like reaching the last 8.

And for the EL, the teams in the last 16 are:
3 - England
2 - Spain, Italy, Ukraine
1 - Netherlands, Scotland, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia, Czechia and Greece.
0 - Germany, France, Portugal Wink

Eh?

They might have a "great name" - if you like that sort of thing Shocked

But performing like one of the European greats?

Not even close!

About 12/1 - they're both favourites

No and I doubt Abu Dhabi and Tampa are in the same city either. Glasgow, Liverpool and Madrid have had teams in two different finals in the same year. I am not sure about the past few years, I think the EPL had four teams in the two finals? Can't remember who they were and can’t pretend to care either.

Getting a bit ahead of yourselves there.
We all know Ole's troubles at getting past a semi and that City usually sh*te themselves at the quarter final stage

Brendan got it with Madrid (2017/18), but London also very nearly had it the following year, when Chelsea won the EL, but Spurs were robbed blind by a cheating referee runners-up in the Champions League.

Dunno about OGS, but you'd think City have to get it right some time.

Maybe the fact they have the PL sewn up by now means that like eg Real Madrid, Bayern or Juve most years, they can concentrate their efforts this season on Europe, now we're at the "business end" of the competition?

Somedays I don’t think about that penalty. But only some.
