Unbelievable generosity.  I didnt know that but not shocked at all as he had a huge heart.    That's some legacy.

Never met him either but some man for one man. Sounds like he would have an interesting back story.

How did he manage it all? Was he really successful in his career that he had the financial freedom to travel the world supporting Ireland and give so much back to charity?

Vienna airport in 2013 was my fondest memory of Tommy - Walking out through arrivals shouting at everyone 26+6=1 with the famous jacket on.

Absolute gent of a man and was always in top top form when you would meet him on away trips. He will certainly be missed. RIP Tommy

What a character great craic! Often talked to him about Kilburn and then after that he’d always shout to me Kilburn the 33rd County. Went to coppers one night with him and he was fairly well on obviously but he got passed the bouncers but just as he was stepping in the door he went flying backwards and that was it.
Very sad RIP

I don't recall ever seeing him. He sounded like some character, though. RIP a chara.

Hard to seperate the myths from the truth and harder still to get a straight answer from him! My understanding of the story is that his Mum had been a very successful Irish dancer way back and had made a good few bob doing shows around the world. Tommy was born and reared in the Irish community in London and ended up working in the civil service over there. Someone told me it was in the Ministry of Defence which I found hilarious given his political views but it could be a yarn. Anyway, when his Mum passed away she left him a tidy inheritence so he jacked the job in and just started spending the cash following Irish sporting teams of all codes all over the world. Football was his first love but he went to cricket and rugby tours and World Cups as well. Plus all the charity stuff. A lot of people just saw the drunken stuff but there was a lot more to him than that.  He was some  man.

Denis does great snaps.

Tommy's birthday today, would have been 65. This day five years back we were celebrating his 60th in Faro for Gibraltar game. Will raise a glass to him tonight.

That's right!  Piper's was only one Irish bar in Faro, down some back alley.  But Tommy found it and held court there.  Throwing a drinks party for his 60th birthday that went well into the next morning.

Rissc London member Thomas (Tommy) Feely, sadly passed away at the age of 64 on 14th August 2020

Tommy was a larger than life character, well known not only to club members but to many Irish fans who came across him over the years.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday 15th September.

In memory of Tommy we have set up a page for those who may wish to make a donation to WONS orphanage in Zambia, a cause very close to Tommys heart.

Tommy was always a fixture at Rissc London events. At one particular meeting in 2008, fellow club member Cathal Chu mentioned in passing to Tommy that he was helping an orphanage in Zambia and was planning on visiting them. Not only did Tommy go on this trip, such was the impact on him, Tommy bagan to support WONS Orphanage ever since making annual visits and paying for the education of many children there.

RISSC London have been overwhelmed with the amount of messages received in response to the sad news of Tommys passing on our social media channels and various football forums; which is a testament to the high regard in which Tommy was held. We have received messages from fans all around the world including from the FAI and many former club guests and players. We will continue share messages of condolences and stories with Tommys family and friends on our club website rissc.org and social media.

Tommy's funeral will be at noon tomorrow at Sacred Heart Church, Kilburn.  He will then be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Harrow Road afterwards.  Due to social distance rules, numbers attending the service will be restricted, but RISSC London hope to do a guard of honour outside the church when the casket arrives.  You can follow the funeral service, which will be live streamed at https://www.churchservices.tv/kilburn

Over £1,000 has been raised in Tommy's memory for WONS Orphanage Zambia, a cause that was dear to his heart.  You can still donate at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/martin-prendergast?utm_term=rp7jnx5nx

Thanks D9 and Newry for details.

I deeply regret that given current restrictions I won't be able to be there.
