The goal of it was to completely neuter democracy in Chile forever Shows mass protest works as the referendum was only held as a concession after the mass protests less than a year ago

Since Pinochet murdered his way to power, Chile has always been ranked as one of the "most free" countries in the world by "libertarians" That's because their definition of "freedom" and "liberty" has never encompassed such pesky things as freedom of speech or freedom to not be imprisoned for doing nothing Sure look at who's number three in the list of most free places on earth by the Cato Institute right now - Hong Kong "Libertarians" have always eulogised Pinochet era Chile |

Any libertarian who understands the ideology doesn't venerate Pinochet, for numerous reasons. At best its for the fig-leaf libertarians. Same types who applaud post revolution Somalia.
